Account Executive

Location: Houston, TX

Job Functions

The Account Executive will drive new business enrollment and adoption for clients, be they individuals, employer groups, or combination of both. The purpose of the position is to promote and sell the insured products and services of the company utilizing outbound telemarketing skills. As part of the sales process, the Account Executive will qualify and capture critical information about the prospect, and confirm commitment to purchase products. In addition, the Account Executive should have the ability to up sell additional benefit products to core medical insurance products.

The Account Executive must possess the ability to understand and explain health insurance to consumers and employers to increase membership and meet sales goals. Throughout the sales process, the Account Executive must meet Empyrean Insurance Services standards for integrity and compliance and ensure that prospects understand the product they are purchasing.

Insurance Sales is the cornerstone of Empyrean Insurance Services’ sales growth in 2008 and beyond. The Account Executive must have the ability to utilize all the technology tools provided and enter customer data into the system accurately to allow Senior Management “real-time” data for analysis.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed new enrollment projects set forth by the Company’s Sales Department by selling the product via telephone.
  • Prompt and aggressive follow-up on company-provided leads, resulting in increased membership and revenue.
  • Properly track all inbound and outbound prospect phone calls utilizing company-provided systems.
  • Function as a liaison between company departments to help identify and resolve prospect’s problems or concerns.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly activity reports.
  • Responsible for working on special projects that support the department’s business objectives.

  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Having current Life, Health & Accident Agent or Broker License preferred.
  • Have an affinity and comfort level understanding and explaining basic health insurance concepts and financial implications of different insurance options.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to close direct sales over the telephone.
  • Outbound telephone sales and/or telemarketing experience in the managed care or insurance industry, employer group sales preferred.
  • Knowledge of predictive dialing and telemarketing lead tracking software preferred.
  • Should be able to exercise independent judgment within policy and procedure guidelines established by the company and the insurance industry.
  • Satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
  • Basic PC and typing skills necessary.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
